RAPOPORT ACADEMY: MEYER HIGH SCHOOL – Most people in the area call them Rapoport Academy, but their UIL name is Waco Meyer. We will make sure to further your confusion by calling them by both names! As someone who grew up near Rapoport and played in their district for a few years, it’s hard to break the habit of calling them Rapoport. They are last year’s state champions, and they entered this season looking to go back-to-back. Follow along as #STBA tracks the defending champs throughout the season.
11/14/2025 - vs Lipan
The season opened with a tough test against a strong Lipan squad. Meyer struggled to find their offensive rhythm early and fell behind quickly, eventually dropping the game 69-38. It was a rough opener, but early-season games like this can often help sharpen a team for the long run.
11/20/2025 - vs Ringgold (Tournament)
Meyer responded well in tournament play, picking up a solid 72-52 victory over Ringgold. Their offense looked much more comfortable, and they were able to control the pace for most of the game.
11/21/2025 - vs Benton (Tournament)
This one came down to the final possessions. Meyer battled all night but came up just short in a heartbreaking 53-52 loss to Benton. Even in defeat, the defending champs showed they could compete in tight games.
11/24/2025 - vs Teague
Meyer bounced back with a strong offensive showing in an 81-71 win over Teague. The pace of the game favored Meyer, and once they got into a rhythm offensively they were difficult to slow down.
12/2/2025 - vs Live Oak Classical
Live Oak Classical gave Meyer problems on both ends of the floor, handing the defending champions a 69-46 loss. It was another early-season learning experience as Meyer continued to work toward midseason form. Live Oak Classical, who is presenting themselves as a problem this year - just like the last year.
12/4/2025 - vs Northwest (Tournament)
Meyer opened tournament play with a gritty 49-40 win over Northwest. Defense and execution down the stretch helped them secure the victory in a lower-scoring contest.
12/4/2025 - @ University (Tournament)
Later that day Meyer ran into a tough University squad and fell 63-31. Playing multiple games in a short stretch can be challenging, but playing against a 5A as a 2A is even tougher.
12/5/2025 - vs Wyatt (Tournament)
Meyer responded with a thrilling 44-42 win over Wyatt. It was a tight game from start to finish, but Meyer made just enough plays late to escape with the win.
12/5/2025 - vs Harker Heights (Tournament)
Harker Heights proved to be a difficult matchup, defeating Meyer 63-30. Very impressed with how Rapoport has scheduled this season. A historically successful 6A playing a 2A.
12/6/2025 - vs Arlington Heights (Tournament)
Meyer bounced back with a strong 73-67 win over Arlington Heights. Their offense came alive, and they were able to control key stretches of the game to secure the victory.
12/9/2025 - vs Groesbeck (Tournament)
Meyer looked sharp in a 78-45 win over Groesbeck. Their defense created opportunities in transition and helped them pull away comfortably.
12/11/2025 - vs Frost (Tournament)
The defending champs rolled past Frost 75-31 in a dominant performance. Meyer’s defense set the tone early and allowed them to build a large lead.
12/11/2025 - vs Rice (Tournament)
Later that day Meyer continued their strong tournament play with a 72-43 win over Rice. Their offense stayed consistent while the defense kept Rice from gaining any momentum.
12/12/2025 - vs Bishop Reicher Catholic (Tournament)
Meyer delivered one of their most dominant performances of the season, overwhelming Bishop Reicher Catholic 87-22. Everything seemed to click in this one.
12/12/2025 - vs Groesbeck (Tournament)
Facing Groesbeck again, Meyer once again controlled the game and secured a 67-36 victory. Their defensive effort remained consistent throughout the tournament run.
12/13/2025 - vs Wortham (Tournament)
Meyer continued stacking wins with a 74-56 victory over Wortham. Their balanced scoring and ability to control the tempo made the difference.
12/13/2025 - vs Kerens (Tournament)
The tournament wrapped up with a 72-43 win over Kerens. Meyer’s defense once again proved to be a major factor in securing the victory.
12/19/2025 - vs Bremond
Meyer returned to regular play with a convincing 61-28 win over Bremond. The defending champs looked much more settled and confident by this point in the season.
1/2/2026 - vs Clifton
Meyer opened the new year with a strong 79-49 win over Clifton. Their offense was efficient and their defense limited Clifton’s opportunities.
1/6/2026 - @ Rio Vista (District)
District play began with an overwhelming 83-23 win over Rio Vista. Meyer wasted no time asserting themselves as a district contender.
1/9/2026 - vs Valley Mills (District)
Meyer continued their strong start in district play with a 64-36 victory over Valley Mills. Their defensive pressure helped control the game.
1/13/2026 - vs Meridian (District)
The defending champs rolled to another comfortable win, defeating Meridian 77-36. Meyer’s offense continued to produce consistently.
1/16/2026 - @ Bosqueville (District)
This was one of the toughest district games of the season. The bulldogs were a #STBA favorite this year, proving why in this game. Bosqueville pushed Meyer the entire night, but the defending champs held on for a hard-fought 65-60 victory on the road. Bosqueville is always a tough environment to play in, and #1 Keller Silver makes it even harder. #11 for Rapaport, Jordan Bradley, proves to be a force in this one.
1/20/2026 - vs Crawford (District)
Meyer handled business with a 57-35 win over Crawford. Their defense once again played a key role in controlling the game, but there was a point in this one where Crawford was up by 10 with a quarter and a half left to play - giving the Ravens another scare.
1/22/2026 - @ Itasca (District)
On the road at Itasca, Meyer secured a solid 61-44 victory. Their ability to stay composed away from home helped them maintain control throughout the game.
1/30/2026 - vs Rio Vista (District)
The second meeting with Rio Vista resulted in another dominant performance, as Meyer cruised to an 81-23 victory.
2/3/2026 - @ Valley Mills (District)
Valley Mills made the rematch much more competitive, but Meyer still came away with a 51-43 win. It was a gritty performance on the road. Meyer had a few players sick that did not make the trip to Valley Mills which helped create a lot more competitive environment.
2/6/2026 - @ Meridian (District)
Meyer returned to dominant form with an 85-45 win over Meridian. Their offense was firing and the defense remained disciplined.
2/10/2026 - vs Bosqueville (District)
Bosqueville got their revenge in the rematch, handing Meyer a 56-43 loss. It was one of the few setbacks during district play for the defending champs. Another game where a few Ravens were sick, and the Bulldogs made them pay every step of the way.
2/13/2026 - @ Crawford (District)
Meyer bounced back with a strong 82-57 win over Crawford. Their offense returned to form after the previous loss. Crawford came out early and decided they were going to completely take Bradley and Long out of the game and make their role players beat them. #21 Jayden Johnson, who came off the bench the whole year until after this game, hit 8 threes on their way to a commanding victory.
2/17/2026 - vs Itasca (District)
Meyer closed out district play with a convincing 70-38 victory over Itasca. The defending champs entered the postseason playing solid basketball.
2/24/2026 - vs Poolville (Playoff Game)
Meyer opened the playoffs with a hard-fought 71-65 win over Poolville. It was a back in forth game the whole night, Poolville had the lead for a lot of the game. Jackson Small and the Ravens scored the first bucket of the night, but the rest of the night was far from easy. At one point with about the Ravens were down by ten. #5 Montre Mitchell stepped into an open three and he knocked it down cutting the lead back down to four. #12 Ve'Shawn Long later ties the game back up at 34 with about sixty seconds left in the first half. With 14 seconds left in the half the game was still tied, but #11 Jordan Bradley took over and put the Ravens in command with the score at 39-35 at the half. Poolville responded in the second half and took back the lead late in the third quarter with a three. Poolville gave the Ravens everything they could have wanted out of this game. Jordan Bradley and Ve'Shawn Long had themselves a night and them and the rest of the Ravens were able to battle through the adversity and take home the win.
2/26/2026 - vs Olney (Playoff Game)
The defending champs advanced with a dominant 58-30 win over Olney. Their defense completely controlled the game from start to finish.
3/3/2026 - vs Collinsville (Playoff Game)
In one of the most exciting games of their season, Meyer edged Collinsville 75-72 in a thriller. Big shots and key defensive stops down the stretch helped the defending champs survive and advance.
3/6/2026 - vs Bosqueville (Playoff Game)
This game is the game we have all been waiting on. A district re-match for a shot to go to state. Both teams winning one of the two previous matchups this year. If you'd like to follow along the action live, click here! You could tell almost immediately that these teams knew each other very well. Rapoport came out in a box and one or a few possessions, and quickly switched into their man defense and just did not help off of #1 Keller Silver. Bosqueville similarly denyed #11 Jordan Bradley. Each team picking out weak links and leaving them completely unguarded and just living with their shots.
