LIPAN HIGH SCHOOL – Lipan has built one of the strongest basketball traditions in Texas at the small school level, and the Indians once again put together an impressive season last year, even though they were unable to bring home the gold. With a great crop of youth from last years runner-up finish we expect great things, and greatly anticipate a deep playoff run with lots of fun matchups down the road. Follow along as #STBA tracks their season.
11/14/2025 - vs Meyer

11/15/2025 - vs Roosevelt
In a tight early-season battle, Lipan came up just short in a 40-37 loss to Roosevelt. The game remained close throughout, but a few missed opportunities late kept the Indians from completing the comeback. Roosevelt, knocking Lipan down to 1-1 on the year is the first loss of their season.
11/18/2025 - @ Peaster

12/4/2025 - vs Glen Rose
The Indians earned another convincing victory with an 80-43 win over Glen Rose. Lipan’s speed and scoring ability proved to be too much to handle. Glen Rose, who is capable of beating most teams in 4A gets absolutly squashed by 2A Lipan in this one to open up tournament play.
12/4/2025 - vs Tolar (Tournament)

The Indians closed out the pre-holiday stretch with a solid 70-52 win over Jayton. Their consistency on both ends of the floor remained a key strength. Yet another victory for the Lipan Indians against another very strong 1A team, a team that many think has the greatest chance to win the 1A state championship and go back-to-back. This stretched the Lipan Indians win streak all the way to fourteen wins. They will continue to look to improve on this impressive start at the greatest small school basketball tournament in the state of Texas... Tenaha. The Tenaha tournament has long been known for bringing together some of the best small school programs from across the state. This, at least in our opinion here at #STBA, is the Lipan Indian's most impressive win of the season. Securing the Tenaha tournament championship by beating one of the best teams in 3A. Lipan handled Westwood’s athleticism well and did a great job controlling the tempo throughout the game. The Indians also made several key plays in the final minutes to keep Westwood from making a serious run. It was the type of win that showed Lipan could compete with — and beat — high level teams outside of their classification.
1/2/2026 - @ Santo (District)
District play began with a dominant 81-28 win over Santo. Lipan wasted no time establishing themselves as the team to beat in district. Many people think Santo's youth coming up will be able to hang with their current district, winning a couple of Junior High District championships in a row, but the Indians have stomped out those hopes.

3/6/2026 - vs. Graford (Playoff Game)
The rivalry between Lipan and Graford is about as close as you can get to a small-school version of UNC vs. Duke. When these two meet, records rarely matter — it’s about pride, tradition, and two elite programs going head-to-head. In their playoff matchup this year, Lipan once again showed why they’re one of the top programs in the state, grinding out a 51-40 victory in a physical, hard-fought game. Graford made them earn every point, but Lipan’s defense and experience helped them control the game down the stretch and move on.
3/9/2026 - vs. Gruver, W 63-53 (Playoff Game)
From a very early point in this game everyone could tell that this game was going to be a physical matchup. Both teams clearly have playoff potential (duh) and understand the difference between regular season and post season officiating. Court Gaylor early in the game takes two threes from the parking lot, and misses the mark on both. Mid-way through the first quarter Gruver leads 11-8. Gaylor makes up for his early misses with an and one that ties the game back up at 11. Mason Lankford for the undefeated Gruver Greyhounds heaves it from halfcourt and drains it to push the lead to 16-11. The Indians make a concerted effort to feed big Steed in the paint, and the Greyhounds pounce on him and take a charge. At halftime the score is 29-22 with the Lipan Indians in the lead. Lipan responds with a charge of their own starting their run bringing the score to 33-25. At the end of three quarters Lipan is up 47-35. A Greyhound run cuts the Lipan Indians' lead to 2, but in classic Court Gaylor fashion he goes on an 8-0 run to finish the game and send Lipan to their 5th straight state championship game.
