HUCKABAY HIGH SCHOOL - The Huckabay Indians, led by Coach Kia McCarty, are looking to build on last season's foundation. Last year going 24-13, and 12-0 in district they have set their eyes on higher goals with a large portion of their roster coming back. They were eliminated last year by the eventual state champions, Perrin-Whitt in the regional championship. While their eyes are on the prize of a state championship, our #STBA eyes are on them this year as one of our contenders.
11/14 vs. Seymour, W 69-55
Huckabay opened the season with a strong performance against Seymour, controlling the tempo for most of the night. The Indians found early offensive rhythm and built a steady lead through balanced scoring. It was a confident start that set the tone for the season ahead.
11/18 @ Jim Ned, W 57-39
Huckabay traveled to Jim Ned and leaned on their defense to secure another win. The Indians forced turnovers and turned them into easy points in transition. Their disciplined play helped them pull away in the second half.
11/20 vs. Fayetteville, W 49-42 (Tournament)
In their first tournament test, Huckabay battled Fayetteville in a physical game. The Indians kept their composure late and executed well down the stretch. Clutch baskets helped them secure the seven-point victory.
11/21 vs. Lipan, L 80-43 (Tournament)
Huckabay ran into a tough challenge against a strong Lipan team. The Indians struggled to keep pace offensively as Lipan pulled away early. Despite the loss, the game served as a valuable learning experience early in the season.
11/21 @ Port Aransas, W 70-48 (Tournament)
Huckabay responded quickly from the previous loss with an impressive bounce-back win. The Indians pushed the pace and controlled the boards throughout the game. Their energy helped them cruise to a convincing victory.
11/22 vs. Bullard, L 54-47 (Tournament)
Huckabay fought hard against Bullard but came up just short in a competitive matchup. The Indians kept the game close with solid defensive stretches. A few late shots didn’t fall, allowing Bullard to escape with the win.
11/24 vs. Bangs, W 72-47
Back at home, Huckabay delivered a dominant performance against Bangs. The Indians used aggressive defense and fast-break opportunities to build a large lead. Their balanced scoring made the difference in the comfortable win.
11/25 vs. Dublin, W 64-44
Huckabay continued their momentum with another strong outing against Dublin. The Indians controlled the game from the opening tip and never looked back. Their defense once again played a major role in the victory.
12/2 vs. Santo, W 80-42
The Indians put together one of their most explosive offensive performances against Santo. Huckabay shot the ball well and pushed the pace throughout the night. The strong effort resulted in a convincing win.
12/4 vs. Bryson, W 74-24 (Tournament)
Huckabay dominated from start to finish against Bryson. Their defense smothered Bryson’s offense while the Indians piled up points quickly. It was one of the most lopsided wins of the season.
12/4 vs. Saint Jo, W 59-49 (Tournament)
Saint Jo provided a tougher challenge, but Huckabay stayed composed. The Indians executed well in key moments and maintained their lead late in the game. Solid defense sealed the ten-point win.
12/5 vs. CCA, W 62-34 (Tournament)

Huckabay closed the tournament with another impressive win over May. The Indians controlled both ends of the court and played with confidence. Their strong finish capped off a successful tournament run.

Huckabay put together one of their most dominant defensive games of the year. The Indians allowed very few scoring opportunities. Their balanced attack powered them to an overwhelming win.
