HUCKABAY HIGH SCHOOL -  The Huckabay Indians, led by Coach Kia McCarty, are looking to build on last season's foundation.  Last year going 24-13, and 12-0 in district they have set their eyes on higher goals with a large portion of their roster coming back.  They were eliminated last year by the eventual state champions, Perrin-Whitt in the regional championship.  While their eyes are on the prize of a state championship, our #STBA eyes are on them this year as one of our contenders.

11/14 vs. Seymour, W 69-55

Huckabay opened the season with a strong performance against Seymour, controlling the tempo for most of the night. The Indians found early offensive rhythm and built a steady lead through balanced scoring. It was a confident start that set the tone for the season ahead.

11/18 @ Jim Ned, W 57-39

Huckabay traveled to Jim Ned and leaned on their defense to secure another win. The Indians forced turnovers and turned them into easy points in transition. Their disciplined play helped them pull away in the second half.

11/20 vs. Fayetteville, W 49-42 (Tournament)

In their first tournament test, Huckabay battled Fayetteville in a physical game. The Indians kept their composure late and executed well down the stretch. Clutch baskets helped them secure the seven-point victory.

11/21 vs. Lipan, L 80-43 (Tournament)

Huckabay ran into a tough challenge against a strong Lipan team. The Indians struggled to keep pace offensively as Lipan pulled away early. Despite the loss, the game served as a valuable learning experience early in the season.

11/21 @ Port Aransas, W 70-48 (Tournament)

Huckabay responded quickly from the previous loss with an impressive bounce-back win. The Indians pushed the pace and controlled the boards throughout the game. Their energy helped them cruise to a convincing victory.

11/22 vs. Bullard, L 54-47 (Tournament)

Huckabay fought hard against Bullard but came up just short in a competitive matchup. The Indians kept the game close with solid defensive stretches. A few late shots didn’t fall, allowing Bullard to escape with the win.

11/24 vs. Bangs, W 72-47

Back at home, Huckabay delivered a dominant performance against Bangs. The Indians used aggressive defense and fast-break opportunities to build a large lead. Their balanced scoring made the difference in the comfortable win.

11/25 vs. Dublin, W 64-44

Huckabay continued their momentum with another strong outing against Dublin. The Indians controlled the game from the opening tip and never looked back. Their defense once again played a major role in the victory.

12/2 vs. Santo, W 80-42

The Indians put together one of their most explosive offensive performances against Santo. Huckabay shot the ball well and pushed the pace throughout the night. The strong effort resulted in a convincing win.

12/4 vs. Bryson, W 74-24 (Tournament)

Huckabay dominated from start to finish against Bryson. Their defense smothered Bryson’s offense while the Indians piled up points quickly. It was one of the most lopsided wins of the season.

12/4 vs. Saint Jo, W 59-49 (Tournament)

Saint Jo provided a tougher challenge, but Huckabay stayed composed. The Indians executed well in key moments and maintained their lead late in the game. Solid defense sealed the ten-point win.

12/5 vs. CCA, W 62-34 (Tournament)

Huckabay once again relied on strong defensive pressure to control the game. The Indians forced turnovers and turned them into easy baskets. Their consistent effort led to a comfortable victory.

12/6 vs. Bluff Dale, W 87-33 (Tournament)

The Indians exploded offensively in this matchup with Bluff Dale. Huckabay scored at will and never allowed Bluff Dale to gain momentum. Their dominant performance highlighted their offensive potential.

12/6 vs. May, W 77-49 (Tournament)

Huckabay closed the tournament with another impressive win over May. The Indians controlled both ends of the court and played with confidence. Their strong finish capped off a successful tournament run.

12/9 @ Anson, W 57-27

On the road at Anson, Huckabay delivered a defensive clinic. The Indians limited scoring opportunities and forced numerous turnovers. Their defense fueled the easy win.

12/11 vs. De Leon, W 51-23 (Tournament)

Huckabay controlled the pace against De Leon with disciplined play. The Indians locked down defensively and steadily built their lead. The effort resulted in another convincing victory.

12/11 vs. Clifton, W 77-43 (Tournament)

The Indians turned up the offense against Clifton. Quick ball movement and efficient shooting allowed Huckabay to pull away early. Their offensive rhythm carried them to a comfortable win.

12/12 vs. Little River Academy, W 66-53 (Tournament)

Little River Academy kept things competitive for much of the game. Huckabay responded with key baskets during crucial moments. The Indians closed strong to secure the victory.

12/13 vs. McGregor, W 68-41 (Tournament)

Huckabay wrapped up the tournament with a dominant showing against McGregor. The Indians controlled the boards and dictated the pace throughout. Their strong play resulted in another convincing win.

12/16 @ Cisco, W 82-57

The Indians continued their strong play with an impressive road win at Cisco. Huckabay’s offense was firing on all cylinders. Their ability to score in transition made the difference.

12/19 @ Hamilton, W 49-36

Hamilton tested Huckabay with a slower, defensive style of play. The Indians stayed patient and executed their offense when needed. Their steady approach helped secure the win.

12/30 vs. Strawn, W 101-29

Huckabay delivered a statement performance against Strawn. The Indians scored over 100 points while dominating defensively. It was one of the most complete games of the season.

1/2 @ Three Way, W 78-25 (District)

Huckabay opened district play with authority on the road. The Indians’ defense overwhelmed Three Way from the start. Their fast pace helped them cruise to a big win.

1/6 vs. Walnut Springs, W 102-29 (District)

The Indians showcased their offensive firepower against Walnut Springs. Huckabay scored consistently throughout the game. The dominant performance pushed them over the 100-point mark.

1/9 @ Iredell, W 100-31 (District)

Another explosive night offensively saw Huckabay reach triple digits again. The Indians controlled every aspect of the game. Their relentless pace proved too much for Iredell.

1/13 vs. Bluff Dale, W 69-43 (District)

Bluff Dale offered some resistance early, but Huckabay gradually pulled away. The Indians tightened their defense in the second half. Their consistent scoring secured the win.

1/20 vs. Lingleville, W 88-22 (District)

Huckabay dominated defensively against Lingleville. The Indians forced turnovers and turned them into easy points. Their aggressive play led to another big win.

1/22 vs. Gorman, W 114-35 (District)

The Indians produced their highest scoring output of the district season against Gorman. Huckabay pushed the pace from the start and never slowed down. The overwhelming offense led to a huge victory.

1/29 vs. Three Way, W 100-52 (District)

Huckabay continued to roll through district competition with another triple-digit performance. The Indians moved the ball well and shot efficiently. Their depth was on full display in the win.

1/30 @ Walnut Springs, W 97-28 (District)

On the road again, Huckabay delivered another dominant effort. The Indians controlled the boards and dictated the tempo. Their strong defense limited Walnut Springs’ scoring chances.

2/3 vs. Iredell, W 95-11 (District)

Huckabay put together one of their most dominant defensive games of the year. The Indians allowed very few scoring opportunities. Their balanced attack powered them to an overwhelming win.

2/6 @ Bluff Dale, W 55-33 (District)

Bluff Dale slowed the pace, but Huckabay stayed disciplined. The Indians leaned on their defense to maintain control. A strong second half helped secure the victory.

2/13 @ Lingleville, W 102-18 (District)

Huckabay once again reached the century mark in a dominant outing. The Indians forced turnovers and capitalized in transition. Their offensive rhythm proved unstoppable.

2/17 @ Gorman, W 83-43 (District)

The Indians closed district play with another convincing win over Gorman. Huckabay maintained control from the start. Their consistent play capped off a perfect district run.

2/24 vs. Cross Plains, W 55-13 (Playoff Game)

Huckabay opened the playoffs with a dominant defensive performance. The Indians completely controlled the tempo and limited Cross Plains’ scoring opportunities. Their strong start set the tone for the postseason.

2/27 vs. Slocum, W 38-36 (Playoff Game)

Slocum pushed Huckabay to the limit in a tense playoff battle. The Indians relied on key defensive stops late in the game. A clutch finish allowed Huckabay to escape with the narrow victory.

3/3 vs. Avery, W 69-32 (Playoff Game)

Huckabay responded to the previous close call with a dominant win over Avery. The Indians controlled both ends of the court from the start. Their defense and scoring balance led to a comfortable victory.

3/6 vs. Perrin-Whitt, W 61-33 (Playoff Game)

Rematch from last year’s regional championship, but this time Huckabay came prepared. After being knocked out by Perrin-Whitt a year ago, the Indians entered the game determined to flip the script. Huckabay delivered a dominant performance, earning their revenge and continuing their playoff run.
